Mahanadi Festival

Mahanadi Festival is a National Level Festival for the protection, promotion & propagation of our Art and Culture. Every year it is held for 8 days in close proximity to river Mahanadi, at Netaji Field , Potapokhari, Nayabazar, Cuttack. It was started in the year 2006. It is organized by the Charitable Trust KIND INDIA FOUNDATION and presented by GLOBAL INDIAN MODEL SCHOOL. Eminent educationist and Socio-Cultural Activist Dr. Chaudhury Satya Das, who is the MD GLOBAL INDIAN MODEL SCHOOL and Managing Trustee KIND INDIA FOUNDATION is its Founder and Secretary. In the 17th years of its commemoration, the festival has created an unexpected euphoria in Cuttack city, the cultural capital of Odisha, getting people’s appreciation and admiration. Grand cultural programmes like Odissi, Sambalpuri & Gotipua Dances, Bharatnatyam, Kathak, Kuchipudi, Contemporary, Folk & Tribal Dances, Ghazal and Musical Nite are held in the evening attracting a huge crowd. Handicraft & Handloom Exhibitions, small swings, Meenabazar and Food stalls at the festival make it more worthwhile. More than 30,000 people of Cuttack and the nearby areas will visit the festival daily.
